 How do we install fuel tanks

1. Empty the current oil into a temporary holding tank.
2. Remove and recycle the old tank, obtaining a gas-free certificate and waste transfer notice.
3. Install a new oil storage tank and its base, ensuring it complies with all relevant regulations.
4. Connect the new tank to the existing oil feed pipe.
5. Transfer the oil from the temporary holding tank into the new storage tank.
6. Purge air from the oil feed pipe and conduct a system test to ensure proper functionality.

Bunding

BMS offers repairs, installation and maintenance for fuel tank bunding. The bunding is used to create an extra layer of protection for the fuel tank and prevent spillages, However for the bund to be fully effective it needs to be maintained, this could be as simple as a check for cracks and leaks or preventing water and other debris filling up the bund; this can be easily fixed with a simple installation of a pump, that prevents any water build up.

Polishing

Fuel polishing is a critical yet overlooked part of fuel management – it is the process of cleaning and restoring diesel fuel to its optimal condition. We can either install a fuel polishing kit, that will cycle the fuel around, keeping it moving and filtering out any debris. Or this can be done manually at set times during the year.

Cleaning

To prevent contamination from sediment, rust, and debris build-up, regular tank cleaning is crucial for maintaining the quality of your stored fuel.

Leak Detection

A leaking fuel tank can create a massive safety risk and must be fixed fast. The first step is to detect where the leak is coming from, this is done using 1 of 3 methods; electronic monitoring systems, visual inspections, ultrasonic testing.

Pipework

When undertaking a fuel tank installation, it is crucial to properly install the associated pipework to ensure safe and efficient fuel storage and distribution.

Inspections

We offer fuel tank inspections to thoroughly inspect and test fuel tanks for any potential issues, and find any faults before they can cause major issues.
