A preset counter is a mechanical control device that ensures automatic delivery of a precise, predetermined quantity of product. It is mechanically linked to a hydraulically balanced valves, and in some cases, pneumatic or electrical switches can be mounted onto the preset to control a pump or open and close solenoid valves. There are two types of preset: a two-stage model to prevent hydraulic shock in the piping system, and a meter, which is achieved by gradual flow reduction followed by a complete stop. If hydraulic shock doesn’t occur in the installation, the single-stage presets are used instead.
